Shota Iizuka associated with MIZUNO. Born in Shizuoka Prefecture Omaezaki City. After the graduation of Fujieda Meisei High School, Started university education at Chuo University. In the first year of university took part in 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics & won the 200 metres title. The first Gold medal for an Asia for this event. Also took part in 2012 Summer Olympics –Men’s 200 metres & Men’s 4 × 100 metres relay. In 2016 won Japan Championships in Athletics title with new 2nd best record of 20.11. Took part in Rio Olympic 2016 & won Silver in -Men’s 4 × 100 metres relay event. At the 2017 World Championships in Athletics in London, he won a bronze medal in the 4x100m relay. Iizuka is the only Japanese athlete to have competed in four Olympic Games in individual sprint events. At the Paris Olympics, he served as the men's team captain for the athletics squad. He has competed in six World Championships. At the Japanese Championships, he won the 200m event four times.
